Why is EndNote not inserting citation properly?
Highlight any EndNote item(s) and click Enable. Change the Manage options to Disabled Items. Click on the File ribbon and select Options (in Word 2007, click on the Office icon and select Word Options). Select Groups > Remove References From Group from menu bar. Right click on your mouse and select Remove References From Group. How do I remove reference limits in EndNote? Open the document and EndNote and try using the tools again. The first thing to try is simply closing both Word and EndNote, and then restarting your Macintosh.
Unselect the Mendeley Add-in if installed. In the Manage drop down menu select Word Add-ins and click Go. Within Word go to File, then select Options. Go to the Application tab and look for the Application dropdown. Change EndNote Cite-While-You-Write (Cwyw) Settings: Go to the EndNote Web tab in Word and click the Preferences button. The solution to your problem depends exactly how badly things have gone wrong. You will have to select the style in EndNote and/or Word to see the changes. If you don't need to make any other changes, go to File, Save As and name your style. 
You may need to add additional spaces or punctuation after the field. To add another field, place your cursor whereever you need to add the field and select the Insert Field button in the upper right-hand corner.
Use the tools at the top of template to add or removed Bolding, Italics, Underlines, etc. Edit the order and punctuation of the listed fields. Select the line, (in this case we'll modify Journal Article). This normally includes Journal Article, Book and Web Page. You will only need to modify those that will appear in your bibliography.
